BiRtHdAy GiRl

Our sweet Chloe turned 1 on Dec. 7th.  She experienced a lot of "firsts" throughout her first year of life.  Here are a few for you to enjoy:
Her first summer & first swimming experience.

Her first swing.

Her first bestie, Emery.

Her 1st birthday party and cake.

Her first Christmas program at school.

Her first bowling experience in Abilene at her 1st birthday celebration with family.

Her first encounter with Santa Claus.

Her first Easter.

Her first 4th of July.

Her first time to honor her Daddy on Father's Day.

Her first public dedication to the Lord at Hillside CC.

Her first time to honor her Mommy on Mother's Day. (Daddy helped them make this wonderful frame.)

Her first big girl chair.

Her first big snow in Amarillo.

Her first plane ride.

Her first Thanksgiving.

Her first Build-A-Bear.

Her first allergic reaction. (Don't know if you can see the rash in this pic or not but it wasn't fun.)

Her first trip to the Pumpkin Patch and first hayride.

Her first Halloween as the cutest little bee around.

Her first Valentine's Day.

Her first breaths in this world & first pic with Mommy and Daddy.

Her first Christmas.

I can't believe she is already 1 year old.  Time has gone by way too quickly.  I tell both girls all the time that I wish I could put them in a bubble and keep them exactly the way they are... forever.  Unfortunately, they grow up and it happens very quickly.  I am so very thankful that the Lord has blessed us with two sweet, healthy girls to love on and guide as they continue to grow.

Chloe Layne, you are precious and I love you more than you will ever know.  I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you in this life.  He has created you with love and perfection for a specific purpose and I will do my best as your Mother to encourage you to seek Him wholeheartedly to fulfill that purpose.  I love you to the moon and back sweet girl!

Circus Parade

"The Circus" was the theme of Adi's last dance recital in May (I know! I know! It's August and I'm sorry I'm just now posting these).  Her class was the circus marching band.  As you can see in the picture above...she was absolutely adorable in her costume!

She loved sitting on Mommy's counter and getting her make-up done!  She is such a girly girl!  Isn't she the cutest thing ever??
She loves to dance and sing all the time, all around the house, but she wasn't the biggest fan of actually LEARNING a dance to the music.  She would rather do her own moves as she pleases. :) This was her second semester in dance and her second recital.  We took a break over the summer and will probably skip dance this year.  We may put her back in it when she gets a little older.  Is that bad?  She is just 3 and she takes gymnastics and loves that!  So I thought we would just stick to that for a while.

However, she does get cute costumes out of it! :)

It's About Time!!!

I made a list (forever ago) of topics that I wanted to blog about...it is now AUGUST, summer has come and gone, school is about to start, and I 'm just now getting to this!

So, I'm going to combine a couple of topics into one blog and get this rollin':

CANYON SODA SHOPPE
Canyon Soda Shoppe has become one of our favorite places to stop in and have a tasty treat!
Adi loves to go because she feels like such a big girl sitting at the bar on the fun, twisty stools.  Oh yeah, and she likes the milkshakes of course! :)
It's hard to find little diners like this these days! If you live close, you should try this place if you haven't already.  If you are traveling through, definitely make time to stop and check it out!

MOTHER'S DAY
My thoughtful, creative husband did this for me for Mother's Day with a little help from the girls!  Chloe wasn't very cooperative with the hand prints as you can probably tell!  I absolutely love it!
I also got a necklace from Stella & Dot!  I've never heard of them before but I was invited to a party and they had some really neat stuff. (Sorry about the sideways pic)
Also, Chloe's dedication ceremony took place Mother's Day weekend.
I had a great Mother's Day surrounded by my favorite people!  I'm very blessed to be the mother of two sweet little girls!

I'll get back to you soon...hopefully it wont be 6 months from now! :)

Brain Fart

Every time I sit down to blog, I always seem to draw a blank!  Don't some people refer to this such thing as a BRAIN FART?  However, when I don't have the computer in front of me, I can think of a whole list of things I would like to blog about.  So...I have decided to write a blog listing the things I want to blog about.  HA!! Now when I sit down to write, I will have a list to refer to.  If you know me very well, you know I am a list maker.  It drives Bradey crazy.  He thinks all that habit does is set myself up for failure since I hardly ever accomplish my list of To-Dos.  If you are a list maker as well, you know the feeling you get when you cross off something on your list.  Even if it is just ONE thing, it feels amazing!

Here it is:  Blog Topics

  • Mother's Day
  • Adilyn's Spring Dance Recital
  • Landscaping/Trees
  • Wine Club
  • Canyon Soda Shoppe
There you have it!  Soon you will be reading about the above topics.  I have successfully reminded myself of the things I've been thinking about blogging about!!
