Have you ever heard of anyone wanting a tree for an anniversary present?

Am I strange?

Oh well!! I don't care! We have lived in Amarillo for 3 years now and every year,

when Spring rolls around, I fall

in LOVE with the Texas Red bud trees.

They are such a beautiful, lavender color when in full bloom!

My house looks so plain in front because we have not planted trees or finished

flowerbeds!

(this was at Easter)
Slowly, but surely, it will all be landscaped but to do it all at once...not in our

budget!

SO...I have asked my wonderful hubby if we can get a Texas Red bud for our

anniversary.  HE SAID YES!!

Don't you think this beautiful creation will look awesome in my yard???

Since we are going to get one tree, we might as well look for others to plant at the

same time. After all, we don't

want the Red bud to be lonely!

So the search for trees has begun...

Twister Time

It is that time of year in the Panhandle...

I wish I was talking about the game "Twister," but I'm not!

I'm talking about these bad boys...

This picture was actually taken yesterday evening by someone in Amarillo.

It was just a few miles from us!

CRAZY, I know!

It also touched down around Canyon, but there was no damage reported

anywhere!

I love, love, love, springtime weather!  However, I'm not a big fan of

TORNADOS.

We are forecasted to have more bad storms roll through our area over the

next few days.

Oh the joys of living in the Panhandle - Tornado Alley!!!

My Chunky Monkey

My precious "chunky monkey" is 4 MONTHS old today!

She is rolling over from tummy to back, playing with toys, slobbering all over everything, smiling, cooing, and she absolutely loves her sister!!  Having two little girls is so much fun!  We are so blessed and thankful for two healthy, beautiful children!

I love you both to the moon and back!!

Hooray for School!

A few months ago I had blogged about Adi going to preschool.  I was so excited about a program that Amarillo High School offered that allowed children to get preschool experience at an affordable cost.  Well...that program is no longer available after 37 years!  BUMMER!  So, I made a few frantic phone calls last week to some churches around town to get information on Mother's Day Out/Preschool registration dates, costs, availability, etc.

She is now officially registered for the Summer and Fall sessions at Kingdom's Kids!  I'm so excited for her and I know she will have so much fun.  Her best friends, Noah and Kayt, are already enrolled there.  They were going to do the AHS program also and be in the same class together.  Now, they will be at the same school, but not the same class. We also know some other families who have their kids there and have heard nothing but positive comments!

She will be attending just one day a week during the summer.  They follow a VBS relaxed curriculum with lots and lots of fun activities! During the Fall it is more of a preschool, center-based curriculum.  They offer a writing program, computer time, and a basketball program for tots (not sure of the exact name)!

Now...on to my next goal for Adi...swimming lessons!

Easter Weekend 10

  • Family arrived at our house on Saturday around lunch...spent the afternoon together...then went to Saturday night Easter service at HCC.  The church has a really pretty courtyard and we stayed and took family pics afterwards.

  • All the girls colored, decorated, glittered...you name it...some eggs.

  • Uncle Cody thought it was a good idea to bring a baby chick to each of the little girls.  YES, A REAL ONE! SIX OF THEM!

  • The Easter bunny stopped by our casa to decorate our front yard with lots and lots of eggs.
  • The girls were so excited and had a blast hunting eggs together!  It is so much fun when we can all be together for Easter! Such a blessing to watch them together.

  • Gram bought some fun bunny masks that everyone, even Chloe, enjoyed.

  • The table was decorated with candy, bunnies, colored eggs, and goodies for each little girl!

  • I finally got to watch the movie, The Blindside.  It was so good!

  • We played a game of Phase 10 amongst all the craziness with 6 little girls, 9 adults, 3 dogs, and a small house!  We love to play games when we are together...nothing will stop us!

  • And finally, after everyone left on Sunday afternoon...we are left with a sweet...little...fury...stinky...chirping chick in our garage!  And Adi adores it!

Hope your Easter was as exciting as ours!

PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!!

Adilyn's 3rd Birthday party...Dora style!

The precious birthday girl.

Playing hard.

Made her wish and blew out her candles!

Opening presents is always a group effort!!

Her sweet friend, Noah, singing "Happy Birthday" to her.
He had practiced all morning!!!

It's hard to believe she is already 3!! Before we know it, she will be 16. :(
